Eldfell

This 2-ply pullover is named for the volcano that erupted on Heimay, an island off of Iceland's south coast, in 1973.  Much of Heimay today is covered with rich red lava rocks of the color found in this sweater.  Vilborg has joined that red with ivory and heather grey to produce a lovely and versatile piece.  If you visit Heimay, which is a brief ferry trip off the south coast of Iceland, go to Eldheimar, a museum built around a home that was buried in lava and excavated.
